- Newcastle University Special Collections is located in the Philip Robinson Library. Our unique resources are rich and varied; we have rare books and other printed works; manuscripts; photographs; maps; ephemera, such as playbills, posters, state of the poll election figures and political cartoons; oral history recordings; music scores; illustrations and even museum objects which have been acquired through bequests, gifts, long-term deposits, permanent loans and purchases. We believe our Special Collections should be available not only to academics, but to anyone who is interested in them. Our Education Outreach team bring our collections to life for children and young people through visits, workshops and online games and resources.
