    • A rich and varied landscape buzzing with wildlife If you’re new to exploring the countryside Witley and Milford Commons is a good place to start. It’s easily accessible and the footpaths and bridleways are clearly marked, you can’t get lost. The Commons is a lovely spot for family picnics too. The countryside is an area of great contrasts with extensive heathland views and secluded woodland glades. There’s always something new to see; from the breathtaking purple heathers and buzzing insects to majestic trees and strange fungi. Witley is a fungi paradise. During the warmer months the Commons are alive with bird song from birds like Tree pipits and Woodlarks. Witley and Milford Commons is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).
