You got in touch

March 17 2010

Thanks to all of you who have emailed us at Show Me to say nice things about Show Me - we really love hearing from you.

Make us laugh

Here's a great joke to start us off, emailed in from Emily Bryan:
Q: When does a ghost have breakfast?
A: IN THE MOANING!

Comment on Show Me news

Photo showing large pink bunny rabbit sculpture on a hillside.

So what about the pink rabbit?

Well Fabio from Italy got in touch to say he'd seen our Show Me story on the Pink rabbit and lives nearby, so wants to go and see it. Have you seen anything like this before?

Send us your artwork, poems and stories

13 year old Sean has sent us his 'out of this world' poem about space:

To Space
The engine ignites
creating intense flames
so bright their appearance turns white
clamped to my chair
my cabin quakes
my insides shake

upon this thundering flight
i feel as if moving at the speed of light

our altitude increases
my nerves begin shaking
my mind begins deteriorating

suddenly as if time has stopped
my shuttle's speed quickly drops

i inhale, air is blown into my lungs
my heart beats like a steady drum
my emotions stop their dramatic run
my trip into space is quickly done

Your World War Two evacuee letters
A lot of you must have been learning about World War Two at school.

Ask Show Me a question

Katie got in touch to find out more about how to draw things from a distance "like far away and stuff".

You can find out more about landscape perspective on the BM&AG for Kids' site.

Just click on the Art Gallery option in the menu and then on Learning About Landscapes.

Tudors, Victorians...it's all on Show Me
Lots of you get in touch to say how much you like travelling back in time with the museum games and discovering more about the past for your school work.

Charlene said she and her friend Georgia "just wanted to say Anglo saxon treasure ROCKS!!! Have you seen the Hoard yet?"

(The answer is yes - we made a trip to the British Museum to see some of the treasure - has anyone seen it in Birmingham?)

Chloe Mathues likes the Egyptian games and Jasmine wanted some Roman things to look at. Samy asked about Tudor clothing - so we're getting something together about that for Show Me - watch this space. Libby wanted some more Tudor games. Libby - as soon as museums tell us they've made a new game, we make sure it gets on Show Me for you. Chantelle Goodwin is loving her Tudor topic work at school - glad to hear it. Ryan emailed to say he loves "learning about the tudors because you find out about loads of interesting stuff and about the 6 wives i love it."

Why you like Show Me
Tyrique and Kahjal emailed Show Me to say they like the site as did Emily Schofield, aged 12, who said: "i am writing to you to say we went on your website in our history lesson and i now know a lot more than i did before. i now go on your website everyday and play games, i love it!!! i think its really useful and fun."

Bradley is 11 years old and he lives in Scotland. He wrote, "i really love the website, i found it one day when i was really bored." Well we're glad you found Show Me, Bradley.

Veronica got in touch to say, "I have really, really long holidays.(9 weeks!) We broke-up way back on June 4th so by now I am very bored. Its another rainy, misreable day and I just can't think what to do. I know that I want to make something but I really don't know what. I came onto this website and I found out how to do Marble Painting and lots more so know I am not just stuck inside on the computer all day, because I can do Marble Painting and more!"

Get in touch, tell us what you think, what you'd like to see on Show Me and send us your pictures, stories and poems. We publish as much as we can.
