Hannah and Emily's Tudor Rose

November 13 2006

Show Me surfers Hannah and Emily from Nottingham have sent in a picture of a Tudor Rose which they did on a computer at school.

Over to you, girls:

"Here is the Tudor Rose. We did it at school and it coincides with our two topics The Tudors and graphic modelling.

We made it in the afternoon with our wonderful teacher Miss McGill!!"

"Henry VII went into battle against Richard III. Until Henry VII killed Richard III. Then Henry VII married Elizabeth of York.

Then the Tudor Rose was created because Elizabeth of York's symbol was the white rose and Henry's was the red rose!"

Thanks Hannah and Emily - this is great!

If you'd like to find out more about life in Tudor times, check out Show Me's Tudors topic page.

There you can find our Tudor Rose challenge: What symbol or emblem could we use to represent us? Can you choose one design or picture that you think would stand the test of time?

Draw or paint your idea and send it in!
