Lewis' Dino-tastic Story

Show Me surfer, Lewis, aged 6, has travelled back in time for his story to millions of years ago when dinosaurs were alive.

Read on for an amazing adventure!

The time machine crash landed on a rocky island. The man opened the door and he saw a land of dinosaurs.

He made his way through the forest to the beach. When he walked along the shore he found a bottle. The man opened the bottle and read the message. It said HELP!!! I'm in the wood surrounded by Volosaraptors come quickly signed Katie.

"That poor girl I need to save her."

The man ran into the wood. Every step he took it got darker and darker. Eventuly he heard someone calling "HELP!!! HELP!!!".

He was going to climb the tree but insted he saw a heard of Volosaraptors. They came closer. But then they smelt his meat pie that the man was saving for his lunch. The man had enough time to save Katie.

"I hope you have spare lunch?" Katie asked.

"Yes."

So they traveled all the way home, in the time machine.

What a fantastic tale about dinosaurs, Lewis - or rather, velociraptors, to be exact.

Did you know that the word 'velociraptor' means 'speedy behaviour'? Wonder if paleontologists (that's Dinosaur experts) also know that meat pies are a favourite snack of these scary creatures?!

Find out more about velociraptors and other dinosaurs on the Natural History Museum's Dino Directory.

We'd love to read your story about dinosaur adventures, why not send it to Show Me?

Any stories published will get a prize (remember to tell us your address).
