National Space Science Centre, Leicester

If you've ever wondered whether there's life on Mars or how astronauts wee in space - take a trip to the Space Science Centre. It's a whole new world.


Charnwood Museum, Loughborough

Here you can handle rocks from Charnwood’s volcanic past, walk beneath the giant oak tree, investigate the 4,000 year old burial of the Cossington Boy, visit the Victorian grocers shop or zoom-in on a fly’s eye with the video microscope.

Nottingham Castle Museum & Art Gallery

The castle's Story of Nottingham galleries tell historical tales of fifteen centuries of Nottingham life.


Underneath the castle are many manmade caves and tunnels, some of which date back to medieval times. Take a guided tour to see Mortimer’s Hole and King David’s dungeon. Descend through hundreds of years of history, learning on the way gruesome tales about Roger Mortimer and King David of Scotland.

Wollaton Hall Natural History Museum, Nottingham

This museum has a fantastic array of specimens and minerals on display, including favourites like George the Gorilla and the impressive Giraffe upstairs! There's a Green Trail and a Nature Trail - and you can also tour the hidden parts of the Hall, including the leaded roof and underground cave system!


Guru Nanak Sikh Museum, Leicester

Explore all aspects of the Sikh religion here - including a beautiful model of the Golden Temple in Amritsar.

Galleries of Justice, Nottingham

A must for fans of police dramas but watch out for ghosts of past criminals....


You can witness a real trial in the original Victorian courtroom and see prison cells, medieval caves and meet prisoners and guards from times gone by.

Snibston Discovery Park, Coalville

Fashion, science, industry and lots of info on the people of Leicestershire. It's the perfect rainy-day outing.


The Extra Ordinary Gallery is full of hands-on exhibits all about technology in our everyday lives.

You can lift up a car, control fire, send a telegram or try beating a robot at three different tasks! There's also a voting panel that asks you to choose your favourite invention.

Green's Mill, Nottingham

This windmill used to be the home of a famous scientist, and you can come here to get your hands on some fun science stuff.

They still make make flour, too - so you can buy some and get baking when you get home!
