Northern Ireland

Here are some great places to go in Northern Ireland.

All museums or galleries listed here love having young visitors - so get out and about and have fun!

(PS - this list is going to get much longer as there are so many great places to visit - so keep checking.)

Whowhatwherewhenwhy (W5), Belfast

W5, as it's also known, is a huge science centre crammed with exciting things to do. Watch out for the tornado - we hear it's wild!

Down County Museum, Downpatrick

You can really get hands-on here! Re-assemble a model of a prehistoric pot, touch Stone Age and Bronze Age objects, dress up in replica costume from the Viking, Victorian and World War II periods, have a go at Viking weaving, explore a monastery and a medieval tower house, make your own version of the Ballybrannagh quilt and play games from World War II.

At Ulster American Folk Park, you can find out what it was like to live in Ulster in the 19th century, and what it was like for Irish people who left Ireland for a new life in America.

Irish Linen Centre and Lisburn Museum, Lisburn

Here can find out about the history of linen, from when it was handmade in Ancient Egypt right through when huge factories were built in the 19th century to make hundreds of thousands of metres of cloth!

If you're lucky you might get to see a real spinner or weaver at work...

Armagh Planetarium

This is the place to be if you want to learn all about the moon and the stars and all the other wonderful things out there in the universe.

You'll find out what it's like to be an astronaut, and you might even get to make some space food, like this young chef!
