Snug as a Bug winter Campaign 2009: make a Bug Hotel

December 08 2009

Why not create a cosy home for a ladybird or bumblebee this winter with the help of minibeast wildlife conservation trust Buglife?

Follow Buglife's step by step Bug Hotel guide to making the home.

Once you've clicked through, scroll down to see the Bug Hotel instructions.

Or download the instructions here.

Buglife would like you to fill out a Snug as a Bug form telling them about your Bug Hotel - you will need your parent or guardian's permission to do this.

In the spring Buglife will tell you when you can take your Bug Hotel apart and meet your mini beast residents.

Buglife will provide you with a form to fill in to note down what bugs you found living there and count them up.

Then you will be able to submit your results online.

Will you have ground beetles, spiders, snails, millipedes or woodlice?

Why not let your teacher know, so that your whole class can take part too?

Don't forget to get in touch and tell us how you got on!
