Stars Get Chalking For Pavement Art Competition

June 14 2007

Some of our favourite celebrities have been getting arty for a very good cause... and now it's your turn!

They're getting excited about the Young Pavement Artists of the Year competition... read on to see their pics and find out how you can enter.

TV presenters like Angellica Bell, Mark Speight - on the left - and explorer Sir Ranulph Fiennes have all put pen, or rather chalk, to paper.

This year's theme is the Arctic and Antarctic. The organisers want young artists like you to think about the environment around these remote places.

Here's Mark's great picture of a polar bear.

Your school or youth group get involved by registering on the competition's website.

Fearne Cotton also sent in the fab drawing below. The eye is to remind us to keep an eye on climate change.

If you#re aged between 4 and 19 you can enter the competition up until July 31 2007, so tell your teacher or youth leader about it and get chalking!

It's all in aid of helping people with a muscle disease called Muscular Dystrophy and also to raise awareness of International Polar Year.

Read Show Me's story about International Polar Year to find out more about it.

Here's Angellica Bell's picture. She drew the flowers because not a lot of people know that flowers grow in the Arctic too!

Think you could do better than our celebs? We'd love to see photos of your entries, so get your chalks out and good luck!

Thanks to the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign for all the pictures.
