Science Of Survival: Write A Sci-Fi Story Online

July 14 2008

Have you been to the Science Museum in London lately? If so you may have seen a fantastic exhibition called Science of Survival.

Shows screenshot form game with several characters running across a futuristic landscape.

The exhibition is all about our world in 2050 - how it may have changed and how we humans might be living then.

That sounds pretty far into the future but is actually less than 50 years away.

We all know about the challenges that face us as time ticks on (unless, that is, you've been living under a large rock wearing ear plugs and a blindfold).

Global warming, climate change and making sure there is enough of everything to go round are issues we all have to think about and deal with.

Shows screenshot from game - a menu of six different types of vehicle, all green in colour.

The Science of Survival exhibition is packed with info and ideas on how to do just that. It's well worth a visit.

If you can't get to London, don't fret. One of the things we love best about the show is its website. It too is packed with information and ideas.

Best of all, it lets you create your own characters and stories.

You start by creating a boy or a girl, making them look as brainy, strange or just downright weird as you like. This is our Show Me tester - like her?

Once you've got your character sorted you can really get creative - choosing between themes, adding music, thoughts, comments, eco-friendly vehicles... all sorts of good stuff.

We'll keep visiting the site so make sure you have a go - we want to see loads and loads of really imaginative stories in their gallery!

Here it is... the Science of Survival Adventures in 2050 website.

You have until November 2nd 2008 to see the exhibition.
