World Book Day 2009

March 02 2009

World Book Day 2009 is Thursday 5 March. How are you celebrating?

Showing the World Book Day 2009 logo. The open book is red with golden pages like the rays of the sun.

You may be getting a £1 book token at school. You can exchange your token for one of six £1 books.

They are in most bookshops. But be quick as stocks of books are limited.

All images © World Book Day apart from final Show Me one.

Have a look at the
World Book Day website for more information on the six £1 books.

Showing a colourful cartoon image of a grey robot with yellow eyes. The robot is reading a book called 'I Robot'.

Don't worry if you can't get to a bookshop.

Your local library will have plenty of books you will like - and they're free to borrow.

There are some great
World Book Day competitions to enter.

For example, fancy designing your own goblin or how about writing your own Beast Quest story?

Goody bags and books are amongst the prizes up for grabs.

Showing a colourful cartoon of a gorilla in a suit and hat. The gorilla is reading Darwin's book, 'The Origin of Species'. The ground is cracking underneath his feet and a little blackbird is looking on.

Don't forget the great games on the World Book Day site.

Here at Show Me, we liked the Humphrey the Hamster game. Tricky but fun!

What's your favourite game?

Get in touch and tell us all about the 'booky' things you get up to? What are your best reads?

Or, if you'd like some recommendations, why not have a look at
Owen and Arthur's faves?
