Show Me Up For Webby Award

April 15 2005

News Update... since this news story was written the winners have been announced and our name wasn't on the list. Never mind, there's always next year. If you voted for us, thank you!

We've just found out that Show Me is on the shortlist for a Webby Award. This is fantastic news for a website, as the Webbys are VERY important in cyberspace.

The Webby Awards have been running for nine years now. Websites from anywhere in the world can enter them - this year there were more than 4000 entries, so we're really proud to have been chosen for the shortlist.

There are five websites in our category, which is 'Education'. The judges are deciding which of the five will win over the next month. There is a way that you and your parents can help...

Here we are - Jane the director (in blue) and Anra, your editor, at the BAFTA Interactive Awards ceremony earlier this year.

Vote for us and we may get to wear our glitzy outfits again!

As well as the main Webby Awards there are awards called 'The People's Voice' which give web surfers the chance to be judges.

Over the next month surfers can visit the People's Voice page on the Webby website and vote for their favourite website in each category.

If you'd like Show Me to win the People's Voice Education Award please ask a grown-up to help you vote for us. The voting form's a bit tricky, and you need an e-mail address to register, so you must ask your parents or teachers before voting.

Keep your fingers crossed for us!
