Saurerpod

September 09 2005

Oliver Goodwin and Samuel Finch are seven, and their dinosaur, Saurerpod, was a runner-up in Show Me's Science Writing Competition, judged by Horrible Science author Nick Arnold.

It's over to Oliver and Samuel to explain more about Saurerpod:

Child's drawing on the head of a dinosaur with a long, spiky neck. There is explanatory text in a child's handwriting.

"Saurerpods are the largest land reptile on the planet. ortho they ar slow there dedly with a 4 meeter wip like tale an 1 meeter long horns on there back."

Child's drawing of a set of weighing scales with a 5 ton weight on the left and a dinosaur in the bowl on the right. There is explanatory text in a child's handwriting.

"did you know that saurpods grow one tone a year"

Child's drawing on the head of a dinosaur with a long neck. A magnifying glass over the dinosaur's side shows up a tiny insect. There is explanatory text in a child's handwriting.

"did you know that saurerpods hav 4cm turersau living on it"

Can you spot the saurerpod's vistors, under the magnifying glass?

Child's drawing of a man in a feathered hat standing on a pile of dung, which is attracting a swarm of flies. There is explanatory text in a child's handwriting.

"did you know saurapods can relese up to half a galon of dung per day"

Poo! If that's the case, we're quite glad we've never met one...

Well done, Samuel and Oliver!
