The Futuristic Flyped

September 09 2005

Alysha Bhatti is 11, and her invention, the Futuristic Flyped, won first prize in Show Me's Science Writing Competition, judged by Horrible Science author Nick Arnold.

It's over to Alysha to explain what the Flyped is made of and how it works:

Colourful, detailed child's drawing of a space vehicle with wheels, jets and antenna. It is travelling past planets and comets.

"My invention is called the Futuristic Fly Ped. It is a combination of a moped and a spaceship. This flyped will be a major breakthrough in space technology, and therefore be a useful vehicle for intergalactic journeys.

It is made of recycled plastic, which is cosmic, and solar ray, resistant and inert due to a special coating of ecoprotocanthidicide. (A hybrid polymer)

Its kinetic principle is the same as pivoting of a wheel on an axle, as it glides smoothly through vacuum, air or land gripping on cosmic or earthen debris.

It is lightweight, and runs on HeNe gas,( A combination of Helium and Neon) that is generated in situ, via special generators that split Neodymium Crystals.

This Flyped is equipped with antennas, and special ultrasonic acoustics and visual devices These act as sensors to help steer the flyped through its course,at supersonic speed, away from dangerous explosive supernovas and meteors.

It also has galactinet weather forecast computer monitor to warn the passengers of storms and super blasts brewing in universal time and space.

It has a built in high powered steering sensory gadget to guide it away from the Black Holes and vortices.

This Flyped comes with a steadying laser grip on its wheels to prevent inadvertent galactic slips. I hope my useful invention will one day become a reality when space travel becomes rife."

Well done Alysha - a first class invention. We'd love to travel in the Futuristic Flyped!
