How To Make A Christmas Card... Show Me Style!

There's nothing better than getting your own homemade Christmas card.

A card you've made yourself shows you've really put some effort in and tried to make something special.

This picture was made out of two hand prints and some sticky stars - isn't it beautiful?


We've got some top tips for fantastic Christmas cards - all based on printing with your hands, which is nice and messy!

We got the poster paints out in the office to make these great cards - how about using these as ideas? Remember you can have a go at making up your own designs too.


You will need:

Paints
Card
Newspaper (to spread on the table)
Paintbrush

You could also use:

Glue
Glitter or glitter glue
Sticky stars
Sequins
Anything sparkly or Christmassy you can find!

No, it's not the Incredible Hulk, this is Kristen, one of the Show Me team, painting one of her hands ready for printing.

Make sure you don't touch the walls once you've got the paint on, or your parents will never let you visit Show Me again.


This fab Christmas tree was printed with that green hand. Is there no end to our talents?

The baubles are fingerprints and tree was finshed off with lots and lots of glitterglue and a star.

This swirly snowflake was also made with hand prints, but this time not the palm of a hand.

Kristen curled up her hand and painted the side only, then printed several swirl patterns. Very clever Kristen.

If you live in Scotland you might stand a chance of having a white, snowy Christmas. For the rest of us, this snowman in a snowstorm will have to do.

Again it was printed, this time with the palm of the hand and a bit of squidging. The snowflakes are blobs of paint printed with fingertips.

We've saved the best 'til last. This beautiful angel is two hand prints, with fingers outstretched, and an angel painted over the top.

She's been decorated with some sparkly glitter glue too.

Hopefully these have given you some ideas - why not have a go at making your own? They're especially popular with teachers, mums, dads, grannies and grandads.
