Could you be a young Victorian at Ironbridge?

How about stepping back in time to become a young Victorian?

Ironbridge Gorge Museums in Shropshire are looking for kids aged 9 - 13 to be young Victorians at their Blists Hill Victorian Town.

You could be joining the adults who dress up as Victorians and tell visitors about Blists Hill Town.

You could take part in the town's celebrations, including Queen Victoria's birthday.

You could also learn how to play street games, try out crafts, attend the town school, discover what life in the mines was like … and shine the odd pair of shoes!

Paul Gossage from Ironbridge Gorge Museums said, "Children love the time travel programmes such as 'Doctor Who' and to have the chance to take a step into history is a rare opportunity that they will remember all their lives."

If you are interested and live near to Ironbridge Gorge Museums, ask your parents about becoming a young Victorian.

They can contact Ironbridge Gorge Museums on telephone: 01952 435900 or email Paul Gossage, Director of Marketing and PR at paul.gossage@ironbridge.org.uk.

But don't worry if you don't live near Ironbridge because loads of museums have special activities for kids during the school holidays and they're often free. Why not check out our Places To Go?

You can also Dress a Victorian online with Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust.

And, of course, there are lots more Victorian games and fun (and stuff for your Victorian school project) on our Victorian Topic page.
