Is this a ghost? You decide...

STOP PRESS... This story was updated October 2010

When a photographer visited the Edward Jenner Museum in Gloucestershire yesterday he ended up with some rather spooky pics.

Photo taken through open attic doorway showing what looks like a shadowy figure in pale clothes sitting on a chair.

Chris Sandy from the BBC took his camera up into the attic rooms which have recently been opened up to the public.

He took some panoramic photos of the empty rooms - empty of people that is - and it wasn't until he looked back at the pics that he got a bit of a surprise.

Look very closely at the picture above. Can you spot what looks like a person sitting on a chair through the doorway? There wasn't anyone in the room at the time and there is no chair through that doorway.

A puzzled Chris said "I don't believe in ghosts myself but this is strange! As soon as I'd taken the panoramic photo I reviewed the image on the camera and straight away noticed this strange formation of light, shaped like a figure, through the doorway into the next room. Without moving I did a few takes to try and work out what had caused it but I couldn't see anything. So weird!"

Here's a close-up. Do you think it looks like a person?

The museum's director, Sarah Parker, also a sceptic, has a theory.

"The figure looks quite large and could be a soldier as we have found graffiti in the attic with names and ranks of soldiers who had stayed in the house, possibly during the 19th century."

So - what do you think? We're not quite sure whether we believe it or not but it's certainly worth a look.
