Summer Pictures

The summer holidays are a great time to get your pens and pencils out and get creative.

drawing of lots of small yellow faces surrounding a big yellow smiley face

Show Me surfer Alice Luscombe from Paignton in Devon has sent in this great picture of lots and lots of smiley faces. Each one has a different expression on its face.

Some are suprised and some are sad, but the big one in the middle had a big smile on its face, which makes us think that Alice must have had lots of fun drawing it.

Here's a close-up of one of the smaller faces - this one is happy too.

drawing of a boat with the word 'titanic' written on it

Georgia Whelan, from Duckinfield in Cheshire is only four, and drew this fantastic picture of a big ship.

In fact, if you look closer you can see that it's the Titanic, which famously sunk in 1912 after hitting an iceberg.

Here's a closeup from the drawing, showing the bows (front) of the ship next to the iceberg.

Thanks for the picture Georgia, we think it's great.

If you're also interested in boats you might like to have a go at some of the fun Boat Games from the Motorboat Museum, or if you prefer sailing boats then why not try to build one with the Build a Boat game from the National Maritime Museum Cornwall?

It's always great when we hear from our readers, so keep sending in your drawings and stories and enjoy the rest of the holidays!
