1936 was a great year for British tennis.
In front of King Edward VIII and Queen Mary of Teck, Fred Perry beat the Australian, Jack Crawford in the Wimbledon Final. In the same year British Player, Dorothy Round beat Helen Jacobs from the USA, going on to win the Ladies' championship.
