    • In 1946 British composer Benjamin Britten created a piece of music called The Young Persons Guide to the Orchestra. He wanted to teach children and young people all about the different instruments and musical parts which make up an orchestra.

You can listen to his whole piece in this video from the Britten-Pears Foundation at The Red House. Once you've had a listen, have a go at playing this quiz from the Britten-Pears Foundation and see if you can recognise all of the different instruments.

If you need some more practice, you can use this interactive game to listen to them one by one and learn all of the different sounds that can be made.
