On the run
Catesby
- remember he was the leader and the brains behind the plot
- wasn't ready to give up yet. He couldn't blow up Parliament
or kill the King, but he still wanted to rebel against
the government.
While Fawkes was facing the King, Catesby and what was left
of his gang fled and headed for the Midlands. They stole some
horses from Warwick Castle and rode off in search of more
men to help them.
Meanwhile, in London, the government were desperate to find
out who the plotters were. They closed the ports, sent out
notices calling for their capture and even asked an astrologer
to help find them.
