About Us
This website has been commissioned by the Parliamentary Archives
and produced in association with the History of Parliament
Trust and the 24 Hour Museum. It is designed to provide an
objective introduction to the Gunpowder Plot with information
about its background, development, discovery and impact on
the history of Britain and Parliament over a period of 400
years. The story is supported by documents, pictures, books
and other items drawn from a range of institutions, which
together constitute a unique learning resource.
The
Parliamentary Archives has custody of the archives of
both Houses of Parliament, which date from 1497. These records
are made available to the public for research, life long learning
and leisure. For more information go to our pages on the Parliamentary
website www.parliament.uk
or consult our online catalogue at: www.portcullis.parliament.uk

The 24 Hour Museum is the UK's National Virtual Museum,
offering a unique mix of dynamic content including daily arts
and museum news as well as exhibition reviews and in-depth
online trails. The site promotes publicly funded UK museums
galleries and heritage attractions and seeks to develop new
audiences for UK culture. www.24hourmuseum.org.uk
The
24 Hour Museum children's zone, Show Me, publishes
a mix of cultural news, games and learning resources from
the UK's museums and galleries sector, for children aged 7
to 11. www.show.me.uk
The
History of Parliament Trust is creating a major scholarly
work of reference about the members and activities of, and
elections to, the British Parliaments since their origins
in the thirteenth century. It is funded by both Houses of
Parliament. For more information go to our website at www.history.ac.uk/hop
