The House of Lords
In 1605 the House of Lords met in a building originally built
in the thirteenth century and surrounded by a number of outbuildings.
When these were being demolished in the early nineteenth century
the doorway from which Guy Fawkes was said to have planned
his escape could easily be seen.
By exploring the pictures to the left you will get a better
idea of where Fawkes planned to ignite his deadly cache, how
he and his conspirators gained access and the destruction
that would have been wrought.
