- Be prepared to get messy in this week’s workshop as Suzy and Lynn show you how to paint and print using clay heritage objects for inspiration. The white pyramids surrounding Wheal Martyn are one the most iconic symbols of the china clay industry. Although they could be seen as just the spoils of the industry, the pyramids have become part of the identity of the area and a reminder of the importance of the industry. Artyology are offering a series of art workshops focusing on clay heritage, including the opportunity to make work inspired by pyramid structures. The pyramid inspired art will be exhibited as part of the White Gold festival on Saturday 21st September at Wheal Martyn and installed on the clay trails leading up to Wheal Martyn. All are warmly welcome and the workshops are suitable for ages 8+, including adults. No previous art experience is necessary and you are welcome to attend all of the workshop in the series. The workshops are free, but usual museum entry still applies. No need to book, just drop-in to the museum.
